YIELD
Merlot is at work in this wine, which is highly appreciated for its intense bouquet of ripe red fruits, blackcurrant and vanilla. The palate reveals a full, rich, generous (kirsch notes) and suave wine but without heaviness, supported by a noble wood and adjusted by fine tannins that give it great elegance.
Ageing
Until 2014, includes, the Grands Maréchaux were aged in Bordeaux barrels. From 2015, we have opted for an alternative maturation.
Tasting
Since 2015, the wines are more relaxed, ready to drink more quickly. Our objective is achieved.
Varieties
90% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc
Another of my favorite Petits Chateaux is Le Grands Marechaux from Blaye. This lovely 2012 is dense ruby/purple, with plump black cherry and blackcurrant fruit, good flesh, a complete mouthfeel from beginning to end, ripe tannin and a long, heavy finish. Robert Parker - Les Grands Maréchaux 2012
